A Dynamic Organization Driven by Passion

At ONB, we believe culture eats strategy for breakfast, and our commitment to a culture of engagement, enablement, and empowerment drives performance excellence for our clients, our staff, and our province.

Culture Comes First

Culture isn’t an afterthought at ONB. It’s the foundation we build on and the force that guides us. As a result of our commitment to culture, ONB has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers for five years in a row (2017-2021), and recognized by Waterstone Human Capital as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures (Broader Public Sector) for 2018. We are a dynamic, world-class organization that attracts people who are as passionate about growing New Brunswick’s economy as we are, and it shows in the attitudes our employees bring to work every day:

  • 95% believe that ONB is making a positive impact
  • 88% feel supported in their work
  • 95% rate their experience as positive and satisfying

Engaged, Enabled, Empowered

ENGAGED. We are all connected by a strong, shared sense of purpose. We believe in the future of New Brunswick and get to see the positive impact we make on the job every day.

ENABLED. At ONB, we don’t “manage performance.” Instead, we focus on employee development to enhance each employee’s strengths and provide growth opportunities that help them shine.

EMPOWERED. Our employees play an active role in shaping our organizational culture through peer-driven Culture Teams that guide employee recognition, sustainability, wellness, and more.

"The most valuable part of this experience has been getting to work in a professional environment where learning and growth are encouraged and you get the chance to do meaningful work."
Angela Bosse, 4th-year student at St. Thomas University and ONB Summer Student

Opportunities for Students

Students bring new ideas, fresh perspectives, and exciting energy to ONB. Our goal is to connect them to the many opportunities across the province and help them prepare for an incredible career here.

We offer many opportunities for students to gain professional experience, training, and mentorship. Student programs at ONB include internships and co-op placements, a summer student program, and a one-year post-graduate training program.

100% of participants would recommend ONB to other students as a place to work.

ONB Gives Back

ONB exists to drive economic growth in New Brunswick, and our corporate social responsibility commitments support those efforts. In 2017 and 2018, we surpassed our funding goal for the United Way thanks to the donations and volunteer efforts of our staff.

We contribute to organizations that support youth and literacy, because we believe that building the skills and capabilities of the next generation strengthens not only their future but our whole province’s economic potential.
