May 2, 2024, FREDERICTON (GNB) – Opportunities NB will celebrate the contributions of the province’s exporting companies at its 56th annual gala on May 30 in Moncton.

This annual event highlights New Brunswick’s business-savvy, entrepreneurial and innovative companies that have achieved recent or ongoing success in various export markets.

“New Brunswick’s export performance internationally is something to celebrate, and that is thanks to our strong, globally competitive exporters,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Greg Turner, who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “The New Brunswick Export Awards reception and gala provides us with the opportunity to recognize our province’s top exporters, their wide range of products and services, and the positive impact they have on our economy.”

Awards will be presented in seven categories:

  • Exporter of the Year Award – over $5 million in export sales
  • Exporter of the Year Award – under $5 million in export sales
  • Global Diversification Award
  • Innovative Exporter of the Year Award
  • Yves Maillet Emerging Exporter of the Year Award
  • Opportunities NB Impact Award
  • Sustainable Exporter of the Year Award

The event will take place at the Delta Beauséjour, beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal dinner with local food and beverages and the awards ceremony. Premier Blaine Higgs will deliver the keynote address. Tickets are available online.

Before the event, from noon to 4 p.m., a free Opportunities NB training session will be held. It will focus on opportunities related to global market uncertainties; artificial intelligence; cybersecurity; sustainability and more. Subject matter experts will include representatives from Port Saint John, Beauceron Security, Université de Moncton, IPL Plastics, Climative, J.D. Irving Ltd., Export Development Canada, and Opportunities NB. Registration is available online.
