September 13, 2016, FREDERICTON (GNB) – Accreon Inc., a Fredericton-based technology and business services firm, will create up to 120 new jobs in the IT sector as it expands exports into the United States market.
“We know how important the economy, health care and education are the New Brunswickers,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “These jobs will help boost our economy while the business advances solutions for efficient health care.”
Opportunities NB is providing $1.5 million in financial assistance in the form of a payroll rebate. The creation of up to 120 new full-time positions over four to five years could add about $16 million to the provincial GDP annually.
Accreon develops IT solutions for the health-care, government and financial services sector. The company has been active across North America for more than 30 years.
“Accelerated growth in the United States market will have a significant positive impact on our business in New Brunswick,” said company CEO Eric Demers. “We will continue to combine our expertise in technology and strategy with a closely-integrated, flexible delivery approach to help health-care enterprise clients across Canada and the United States deliver results that aim to streamline operations and improve outcomes.”
“New Brunswick offers a low cost of doing business, a skilled and motivated workforce, access to students at four universities and 11 colleges, and a number of incentives for businesses,” said Demers. “Most importantly, it is where our roots are. Our business is only as good as our employees and their multifaceted experiences are unmatched in the industry. Every individual at Accreon plays an important role in our collective success.”
Accreon began as the merger of three New Brunswick IT companies in 2008 and has grown to more than 150 employees. The new jobs will require skills in software development, technical architecture and business analysis.
Opportunities NB is a Crown corporation that seeks to attract and support opportunities to grow the economy and create jobs. It provides support services for businesses across the province.
