June 8, 2017, FREDERICTON (GNB) – Twenty-five exporters from the Atlantic provinces, including five New Brunswick firms, will join government officials on a trade mission to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, June 11-16.

The trade mission will focus upon food, information technologies, infrastructure, building products and services, suppliers of clean technology and renewables, and industrial manufacturing sectors.

“New Brunswick has long-standing relationships and strong ties with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands,” said Economic Development Minister Francine Landry, who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “These ties are the foundation of partnerships we want to build upon during this mission. It is also an opportunity for our companies to explore the potential for export growth that we anticipate the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement will bring.”

Trade between Atlantic Canada and European Union countries totaled $2.5 billion in 2016.

Participating New Brunswick companies are:

  • Prelam Enterprises Inc., Moncton.
  • Eastland Industries Ltd., Minto.
  • Resilia Inc., Shediac.
  • Jensens Powertrain, Fredericton.
  • Masitek, Moncton.

The delegation will begin work in London on June 11, and then move to Rotterdam for June 14-16. Business-to-business matchmaking meetings will take place throughout the week, along with networking events in each city. Several market preparedness workshops have been organized on topics including tariffs and regulations, shipping and logistics, food labelling and regulations, and country market scans.

This mission is funded in partnership between the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the four provincial governments, as part of efforts through the Atlantic Growth Strategy to support trade and investment.
