May 26, 2017, PERTH-ANDOVER (GNB) – Bolster Canada, a metal fabrication and coating factory, is expanding its Perth-Andover operations and increasing its workforce with an investment of $399,227 from the provincial and federal governments.

The company, which manufactures the popular Santa’s Solution Christmas tree stand and other accessories, plans to introduce several new products and hire up to 11 new employees.

“Your government is focused on developing a supportive climate for businesses to grow and expand,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “The investment today not only creates 11 new jobs in rural New Brunswick, but supports the company’s growth plan while providing support to the manufacturing sector in New Brunswick. Your government is committed to supporting companies to grow their exports, increase their competitiveness and create jobs here at home.”

Opportunities NB is contributing $92,832 to support the company’s capital expenditures and job creation. The Regional Development Corporation, through the Northern New Brunswick Economic Development and Innovation Fund, is providing $33,500. The creation of 11 new jobs in the Perth-Andover region is expected to add $410,219 to the provincial GDP annually.

The federal government is providing a repayable contribution of $247,500 through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s Business Development Program as well as a non-repayable contribution of $25,395 through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program. Bolster Canada is investing up to $345,000 in the project.

Harvey. “That is why we are pleased to support projects like this one that is helping Bolster Canada expand into new markets, create more jobs and generate new economic growth for this region.”

Harvey attended for federal Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, who is also minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.

“This investment will help our company further expand markets for our brand of Uneak products,” said Mike Bolster, president of Bolster Canada. “We currently supply major retailers in Canada and the United States, including Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Rona/Lowes, Ace Hardware, Home Hardware and Kent. Working with both levels of government and LearnSphere Canada is already producing positive results for Bolster Canada, and we appreciate the support.”
