July 12, 2018, GRAND FALLS (GNB) – G.R. Thériault Ltd., a manufacturer of windows and doors in Grand Falls, is undertaking a $250,000 capital expansion with support from the provincial government. The expansion will also result in the creation of two new full-time jobs.
“Supporting the growth of companies that have a strong history of export operations is a commitment of your government,” said Victoria-La Vallée MLA Chuck Chiasson. “The New Brunswick Economic Growth Plan calls for strategic investments to support the growth of successful companies like G.R. Thériault. This is an example of how we are getting things done on behalf of working families in Grand Falls and across the province.”
The investment will be used to acquire new equipment for the company’s painting operations. The Grand Falls plant currently has 18 full-time and 14 seasonal employees.
“Because window and door manufacturing is constantly evolving, we need to evolve as well to maintain our competitive edge,” said Michel Thériault, company vice-president. “We are extremely grateful to the province, and to the team at Opportunities NB, for their support of our recent capital projects. The Thériault family began operations here in Grand Falls 60 years ago, and with these kinds of strong partnerships, I am confident our family will be making great products here, 60 years from now.”
In support of its expansion, the company is eligible for a non-repayable contribution of $37,500 from Opportunities NB, which is a Crown corporation that attracts and supports opportunities to grow the economy and create jobs. It provides support services for businesses across the province.
In addition, the Regional Development Corporation will provide a $25,000 non-repayable contribution.
It is estimated that the newly created jobs would contribute $542,000 to the province’s GDP over six years and generate $62,300 in provincial taxes over the same period.
Founded in 1958 by George Thériault, the company manufactures windows and doors, offers repair services and is a dealer of patio doors. The company’s products are sold through retailers in New Brunswick, Quebec, Prince Edward Island and in the United States.
