Five companies receive top export awards

SAINT JOHN (GNB) – New Brunswick’s top-performing exporters were recognized for their achievements at the 2019 Export Awards in Saint John on Thursday.

“This is an excellent opportunity to recognize the outstanding New Brunswick companies that are succeeding by expanding their export markets,” said Economic Development and Small Business Minister Mary Wilson, who is also the minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “Creating conditions where they can continue to build on their success is an important part of our commitment to energize the private sector and grow our economy.”

The winners were selected by a panel of business experts from academia and the private sector.

Opportunities NB hosted the gala in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

“The winning companies are shining examples of what New Brunswick businesses are capable of achieving in the global marketplace, all while making a tremendous contribution here in our communities,” said Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long. “It is wonderful to see so much great work being done throughout the province, and I am very pleased to see these companies recognized for their international business achievements. Success breeds success, and I am certain many other companies will be inspired by these examples.”

Long commented for federal Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, who is also the minister responsible for ACOA.

“The work that these companies do is incredible,” said Opportunities NB CEO Stephen Lund. “Their efforts help showcase the great things New Brunswick has to offer. Opportunities NB is proud to celebrate their achievements and support them in their future successes.”
