September 19, 2017, FREDERICTON (GNB) – LuminUltra Technologies is creating 15 new jobs in Fredericton with support from the provincial government.
The biological monitoring technologies company already has 36 employees. The new full-time equivalent positions are to be created within the next year.
“This is fantastic news for the Fredericton region,” said deputy premier Stephen Horsman. “Our government is dedicated to creating strong partnerships that contribute to economic growth in our province. LuminUltra is a New Brunswick success story, and we are pleased to be able to stand alongside them as they continue to expand their operations.”
LuminUltra, founded in 2003, provides microbiological testing solutions for customers in a variety of industries. Its products are used in wastewater treatment, as well as in programs for microbial growth control in water systems of any type. The company’s clients include Shell, BASF, Chevron, Dow, 3M and NASA.
“Opportunities NB works every day with companies and startups that are bringing great ideas to life,” said Economic Development Minister Francine Landry, who is also the minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “Our goal is to let the world know about the incredible entrepreneurship and innovation happening here in New Brunswick. LuminUltra has certainly been a tremendous ambassador for New Brunswick’s brand, and we are excited to help them on their journey.”
To support the creation of these new jobs, LuminUltra will receive up to $306,500 from the provincial government. Opportunities NB is offering $200,000 in the form of payroll rebates and $106,500 as a non-repayable contribution for market development and innovation activities.
LuminUltra was named one of the top 101 companies in Atlantic Canada by Progress Magazine from 2013 to 2016 and has been ranked nine times as one of the fastest-growing companies in the region. It has also won several New Brunswick Export Achievement and KIRA awards.
