Moncton-based company VidCruiter expanding, creating jobs

MONCTON (GNB) – VidCruiter, based in Moncton, plans to create up to 20 new full-time positions, with support from the provincial government.

“New Brunswick companies are seizing opportunities, investing and expanding in the province,” said Arlene Dunn, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “VidCruiter’s growth exemplifies both the innovation that exists in our province and the business confidence that is fueling our economy. We are proud to have many strong information and communications technology companies in our province and are excited to see these players scale on the world stage.”

The company is eligible for an investment from Opportunities NB of up to $153,900 in the form of a payroll rebate to support its hiring plan. It is estimated that the creation of these jobs will contribute $2.2 million to the province’s GDP over the next two years.

Founded in 2009, VidCruiter is a software-as-a-service company that helps human resources teams modernize their recruitment efforts by providing video recruitment and online hiring solutions. The company’s recruiting platform includes services such as video interviews, skill testing and reference checks to assist with talent recruitment worldwide.

“Without a doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic has been an inflection point for the video recruitment space,” said J-F Poirier, head of strategic partnerships for VidCruiter. “The increased demand and accelerated adoption have allowed us to double the size of our team in just under a year. Video interviews are being adopted by a number of organizations already and we will likely continue to see a rise in the use of video interviews as opposed to in-person interviews, especially during the early screening stages of the hiring process.’’
