New Brunswick Export Awards to be presented on May 26

FREDERICTON (GNB) – Opportunities NB’s annual salute to the province’s many successful exporting companies is returning after a two-year hiatus, with awards to be presented at a gala event in Fredericton on Thursday, May 26.

The event recognizes companies that have achieved recent or ongoing success in various export markets.

“Celebrating our exporters is vital, as success in international markets takes an exceptional amount of time and hard work,” said Arlene Dunn, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, the process of exporting has become more complex and challenging, but also more rewarding. Opportunities NB is a long-term partner for our exporters and is committed to helping them succeed.”

Awards will be presented in five categories:

·         Global Diversification Award

·         Emerging Exporter of the Year

·         Innovative Exporter of the Year

·         Exporter of the Year – under $5 million in export sales

·         Exporter of the Year – over $5 million in export sales

There will also be an Impact Award relating to foreign direct investment and a Resiliency Award.

“While New Brunswickers tend to be humble, it is important that we take a moment to celebrate the success of our many world-class businesses,” said Dunn. “This gala event is a unique opportunity to increase the profile of our exporters and highlight the benefits of exporting made-in-New Brunswick products and services globally.”

The gala will take place at the Delta Fredericton with the reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal dinner with local food and beverages, and the awards ceremony. On the afternoon before the event, an information session of interest to exporters will also take place.
