January 5, 2017, FREDERICTON (GNB) – Opportunities NB has been recognized as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers for 2017.
Currently in its 9th year, Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This year’s winners were announced in the January 2017 issue of Atlantic Business Magazine.
The designation, which recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work, examined the following criteria:
- physical workplace;
- work atmosphere and social;
- health, financial and family benefits;
- vacation and time off;
- employee communications;
- performance management;
- training and skills development; and
- community involvement.
“Opportunities NB has created a positive culture in a short amount of time,” said Economic Development Minister Francine Landry, who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “It is tremendous to see that their commitment to a culture of proactive and accountable professionals has been recognized.”
The organization was formed when the previous Department of Economic Development and Invest NB merged on April 1, 2015. It has built a team from both the public and private sectors, with 72 employees at head office in Fredericton and 49 staff in regional offices.
