March 18, 2016, HARTLAND (GNB) – The provincial and federal governments are making a combined investment of $1 million to help Craig Manufacturing expand its plant and create 30 new jobs.
“Our government is focused on developing a supportive climate for businesses to grow and expand,” said Carleton-Victoria MLA Andrew Harvey. “The investment today creates 30 new jobs, supports the industrial fabrication sector, increases the company’s capacity and improves the efficiency of the existing facility.”
Harvey attended the announcement for Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet, who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB.
Craig Manufacturing, based in Hartland, is North America’s largest privately owned custom attachment manufacturer. It is a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment attachments.
The provincial government, through Opportunities NB, is investing $500,000. The federal government, through the Atlantic Provinces Opportunities Agency, is providing a $500,000 repayable contribution under the Business Development Program. The company is contributing $2.5 million.
Craig Manufacturing is building an addition covering 2,300 square metres (25,000 sq. ft.) that will include 15 new bays and equipment. The project will enable the company to increase production and create the additional jobs for the rural region.
