Did you know that New Brunswick is one of the most export-dependent economies in Canada? With exports totaling over $18.7B in 2022, NB-made products and services are having an impact; both at home and abroad. This activity means both new wealth and job creation for the province.
ONB’s Export Development Team offers New Brunswick companies of every size our expertise and guidance on reaching new markets and further developing their sales abroad. In fiscal year 2021-2022, ONB worked with 498 companies to support their export efforts. This work translated into over $26 million in new sales being won by NB businesses.
But We Need to Do More
Our Export Development teams’ reason for being is to help local businesses increase their exports and diversify their markets. The reality today is that only about three per cent of New Brunswick companies export; and that number has remained remarkably consistent for many years. ONB wants to see this change, and we know that it can be done.
We have many great export success stories in New Brunswick. Companies from every corner of the province are reaching new markets and seeing international success in every sector. That’s why it’s so important that we continue to celebrate these world-class exporters with our annual awards gala – the NB Export Awards.
The 2023 NB Export Awards
The Export Awards is the province’s flagship annual event which recognizes the success and innovative approaches of New Brunswick’s export companies. This ONB-led event celebrates the many great companies contributing to New Brunswick’s exporting strength by achieving extraordinary results in international markets and elevating New Brunswick’s competitiveness in the global economy. Our team invests heavily in this event each year because we believe New Brunswick excellence should be celebrated, and what better way to inspire our next generation of entrepreneurs?
