GRAND FALLS (GNB) – A Grand Falls door and window manufacturer, G.R. Thériault Ltd., is expanding its facility and its production capabilities with support from the provincial and federal governments.

“G.R. Thériault Ltd. has a long-standing tradition of innovation and growth in northern New Brunswick,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “Their ongoing investments in technology and commitment to quality and energy efficiency have made them a leader in the door and window industry. As housing demand rises across Atlantic Canada, we are proud to support this homegrown company as it expands and helps meet the growing need for residential construction materials – while creating good jobs and strengthening our provincial economy.”

The provincial government, through Opportunities NB, is providing a conditionally repayable loan of up to $255,000 to support the purchase of an automated paint booth. This will help the company meet increased demand for its painted products. The project will create two full-time positions focused on operating the new paint line and taping window and door frames.

The federal government, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is contributing $565,750; it will go toward the automated paint booth, expanding the facility and hiring experts to improve manufacturing and boost productivity.

“Supporting manufacturers like G.R. Thériault Ltd. is key to building a strong Canadian economy,” said Madawaska-Restigouche MP Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault. “This investment shows our government’s commitment to helping Canadian businesses innovate, grow and strengthen the economic foundations that support housing across the country.”

Deschênes-Thériault attended for federal Justice Minister Sean Fraser, who is also minister responsible for ACOA.

The family-owned company, founded in 1958, supplies doors and windows to hardware franchises and specialty retailers across the Maritimes, Quebec and Maine.

“We are proud of the legacy we’ve built over the past six decades and excited about this next step,” said company CEO Michel Thériault. “With this support, we’re not only investing in our operations to expand capacity and drive growth in new and existing markets, we’re also building on the foundation laid by those who came before us. I’m especially grateful to my parents, whose hard work made all of this possible, to my son who represents the future of the company, and to my wife, Monique, for her unwavering support.”

Opportunities NB is a Crown corporation and the lead economic development agency for the province. It seeks to attract and support opportunities to stimulate economic growth and create jobs by providing support services for businesses.
