April 5, 2023, FREDERICTON (GNB) – Opportunities NB is inviting 2023 high school graduates enrolled in New Brunswick post-secondary institutions to apply for one of its five NB Proud Awards.

The awards, worth $2,000 each, will be presented to five graduates from across the province’s five economic regions to support their post-secondary goals.

“Today’s graduating class has many opportunities, both at home and abroad,” said Arlene Dunn, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “Our NB Proud Awards are our way of encouraging students to look local when thinking about their future careers. New Brunswick students are a critical component of our province’s skilled talent pipeline and are essential to addressing the workforce needs of the future. With an abundance of exciting career opportunities, New Brunswick students can dream big right here at home.”

Applicants are asked to submit an essay of no more than 500 words on their potential future careers and how they plan to contribute to the province’s success and economic growth. They will also be asked to take and submit a creative photo related to their essay response.

Applications should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 22. The application form and more information about the NB Proud Awards are available online.
