The NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) is North America’s biggest home building trade show. Opportunities NB (ONB) was proud to accompany several New Brunswick-based companies once again to this year’s event in Las Vegas for three days of networking and trendspotting.

ONB Export Development Executive Stephanie Savary says the event has grown in importance to New Brunswick and our companies. “Our infrastructure companies are pivotal to our success, as they are among our major exporters, and thus major economic drivers,” she says. “They represent everything from value-added lumber to air purity and HVAC systems to software solutions to companies in the circular economy and cleantech space. It’s a significant opportunity for New Brunswick businesses.”

Multiple opportunities exist at the show

IBS is traditionally a part of Design & Construction Week and is co-located with the NKBA Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) as this year’s National Hardware Show (NHS). This year’s show also offered a shuttle service to the Las Vegas Market’s interior design show and the International Surface Event.

The show has only grown more popular in recent years, and Savary says it’s already time for New Brunswick businesses to start thinking about next year’s event. “There is a lot to take in, and it helps to have a plan. Our team can help with that, whether it’s engaging Trade Commissioners, bringing in matchmakers to arrange b2b meetings, or deciding which show floor is the best fit to focus on, or consulting on whether it’s best to exhibit or walk the floor. We are already engaged in 2024 planning; companies should reach out to us now if they are interested.”

She says some exhibitors this year looked to increase their booth space, but the show has become so popular that wasn’t always possible. “There is a waitlist for additional space. That’s why we ensure we bring a strong delegation every year; if we skipped a year, we could lose our spot.”

Join us next year (February 27-29)

The Atlantic Canada delegation has already reserved space for the 2024 edition of IBS, and recruitment has begun. It is not too early to become a part of this great event and ONB is here to help. This year’s show saw the largest Atlantic Canadian delegation to date and interest is already picking up for next year.
