Financial solutions provider The Co-operators has worked with Client Engagement across several areas to source talent. This included reviewing current recruitment methods and offering suggestions on additional brand-building initiatives, like participating in job fairs with post-secondary institutions and collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton.
ONB helped promote The Co-operators’ job postings through our Featured Opportunities page, WorkingNB, and LinkedIn. Touchpoints also discussed ongoing challenges and recruitment barriers, and explored new initiatives. Additionally, ONB worked with Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) and the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick (IINB) to explore potential micro-credentialing courses as a way to develop a highly tailored and qualified talent pool. We also assisted The Co-Operators with immigration-related questions, ensuring it had the necessary resources to support its ambitious hiring strategy.
These efforts contributed to The Co-operators exceeding their hiring targets by 47 per cent in the first year (of a three-year plan).
ONB has collaborated with metal fabrication specialists GOW Group on a range of strategic initiatives designed to enhance its workforce and organizational capacity. ONB has acted as a connector, ensuring GOW is aware of and has access to the full range of workforce resources available in New Brunswick. We connected GOW with multiple partners to explore training opportunities that support the development of a more inclusive and bilingual workforce.
To further enhance GOW’s leadership team, ONB connected it with LearnSphere, allowing its management team to participate in targeted leadership development courses.
Client Engagement provided GOW with quarterly updates on recruitment events across New Brunswick and offered on-the-ground support by attending many events alongside the GOW team, enhancing their visibility. ONB also collaborated with WorkingNB to support GOW’s workforce needs and kept them informed about international recruitment events led by Immigration NB and RDÉE. The result: GOW reached 100 per cent of its three-year recruitment target a year ahead of schedule.
ONB has built a strong partnership with Xerox Saint John, supporting its growth of the Xerox Digital Sales business. We collaborate on activities to build awareness of the professional sales centre, drive interest from potential candidates, and ensure that Xerox has the required presence in the local and provincial community.
To boost Xerox’s visibility, ONB connected it with key networking opportunities, including Civic Tech’s “Pitch You” nights, newcomer career fairs, NBCC career fairs, and several universities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
We also introduced Xerox to Envision Saint John, leading to a targeted presentation for students and new graduates. This presentation highlighted Xerox’s career opportunities while showcasing Saint John as a great place to live, work, and play.
Our efforts have strengthened employee engagement, sourced language assessment services, and spotlighted Xerox in key career opportunities, helping to expand its talent pipeline and create a more inclusive, engaging workplace.
