HALIFAX (GNB) – The government is providing up to $2 million in performance-based support to APEX Industries for the expansion of its Moncton operations.
The project is expected to create up to 35 full-time positions and increase production capacity of the manufacturing, product development and engineering company that serves a range of industries, including aerospace, defence, naval, food and construction. The announcement was made in Halifax where New Brunswick companies and organizations are showcasing their defence, security, aerospace, cybersecurity, information and communications technology, and advanced manufacturing capabilities at Canadian Defence Security and Aerospace Exhibition Atlantic (DEFSEC Atlantic) 2026.
“DEFSEC Atlantic is an important opportunity to showcase New Brunswick’s talent, expertise and contributions to the defence and aerospace sectors,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “This investment will help APEX Industries expand and modernize its operations, increase production capacity and strengthen its ability to serve customers in these sectors, while creating opportunities for workers, suppliers and other businesses across the province.”

The expansion will add about 3,250 square metres (35,000 square feet) to the company’s production facility. It will involve the purchase, installation and commissioning of advanced manufacturing equipment.
The project is expected to contribute up to $15.3 million in direct provincial GDP by the end of 2029.
“This investment represents an important step forward as we expand our contract manufacturing business, which has been largely migrated to the defence and naval sectors in recent years,” said Keith Parlee, CEO of APEX Industries. “The expansion will increase our production capacity and strengthen our capabilities, improving our global competitiveness in the rapidly expanding defence sector for years to come. We appreciate the support from the government of New Brunswick and Opportunities NB as a partner in the growth of our business in New Brunswick.”
DEFSEC Atlantic, taking place from Tuesday to Thursday this week, brings together companies, investors and industry decision-makers. The event provides an opportunity to connect with industry and investment partners and explore opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Opportunities NB is the lead business development agency for New Brunswick. It supports local businesses and attracts new investment from around the globe to boost economic and job growth.
