Ceremony in Saint John on May 28
SAINT JOHN (GNB) – Opportunities NB and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) will celebrate the contributions of the province’s export companies at the 58th annual New Brunswick Export Awards on May 28 in Saint John.
This event celebrates the successes and innovative approaches of New Brunswick’s export companies. It highlights stories of organizations whose resilience, agility and global ambition are driving growth at home and abroad, while recognizing their achievements across diverse international markets.
“It is a privilege to work with New Brunswick companies and witness the ambition and innovation driving their success,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “We’re proud to recognize these businesses at an event we all look forward to each year. The record-breaking number of exporters stepping forward for these awards this year highlights the growing momentum of New Brunswick businesses making an impact on the global stage.”
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Woman in Export Excellence Award
- Productivity Impact Award
- Exporter of the Year – over $5 million in export sales
- Exporter of the Year – under $5 million in export sales
- Global Diversification Award
- Innovative Exporter of the Year – under $10 million in export sales
- Emerging Exporter of the Year
- Sustainable Exporter of the Year
“Exporting plays a vital role in helping Canadian businesses scale, diversify and build resilience,” said Wayne Long, secretary of state for the Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions. “I’m proud that the Government of Canada is supporting the New Brunswick Export Awards, showcasing the strength of the province’s business community as they grow internationally and at home.”
Long spoke on behalf of federal Justice Minister and Attorney General Sean Fraser, who is also minister responsible for ACOA.
The event will take place at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, beginning with a networking reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony and dinner featuring local food and beverages. Tickets are available online.
Before the event, a free export training session, Strategic Diversification: Navigating Global Shifts, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saint John Harbourfront Hotel. This session, delivered by Opportunities NB’s export development and business growth teams, will provide insights on relevant business development topics, supporting businesses of all sizes as they grow and expand into new markets. Registration is required and can be completed online.
The 40 companies vying for this year’s awards are listed on the Opportunities NB website.
