MONCTON (GNB) – Butterfield Support Services (Canada) Ltd. is strengthening and diversifying its Canadian operations with the creation of up to 50 full-time jobs in Moncton over the next three years. The city will be the second Canadian location for Butterfield, which already employs more than 300 people at its Halifax office.
Butterfield Support Services provides operational and customer support to Butterfield Group, a full-service bank and wealth manager headquartered in Bermuda.
“Companies have choices about where they invest and grow, and Butterfield chose New Brunswick,” said Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “That says a lot about the talent we have here and the competitive business environment we’ve built. This expansion means more good-paying jobs for New Brunswickers, a strong and growing financial services sector, and proof that our province continues to be a smart place for international companies to do business.”
The new positions will span a range of technology, operations and client support functions, building on the capabilities already in place in Halifax. Recruitment is underway in Moncton, with several positions filled and other opportunities now available. Available roles can be found on the careers section of the organization’s website.
Through a performance-based payroll rebate of up to $275,000, Opportunities NB is supporting the creation and maintenance of the new positions over a three-year period. The project is expected to generate about $14 million in total provincial GDP and roughly $1.6 million in provincial tax revenues.
