FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Susan Holt and Natural Resources Minister John Herron are heading to Toronto next week with a clear message for investors: New Brunswick has what the world wants – and the province is ready to move on its opportunities.

Holt will participate in the inaugural Canada Investment Summit on Monday and Tuesday, using the event as the anchor for a broader investment-attraction initiative across the Greater Toronto Area.

“New Brunswick has the people, resources, infrastructure and opportunities investors are looking for,” said Holt. “We are going to Toronto to attract new investment, build relationships and show investors that New Brunswick is ready to work with them to get projects moving and create good-paying jobs for New Brunswickers.”

New Brunswick will showcase major investment opportunities in areas such as critical minerals, advanced materials, energy, digital infrastructure and transportation. The government will highlight and pitch the following New Brunswick-based projects: the Mactaquac lifetime achievement project, new nuclear development, the Sisson mine project, Belledune port expansion, the Saint John trade corridor, the Lorneville data centre, the Dalhousie pozzolan project, the Atlantic e-methanol production project. These represent more than $30 billion in capital investment opportunities in New Brunswick and demonstrate the province’s potential in sectors critical to Canada’s economic and industrial future.

“The Canada Investment Summit is an important opportunity to showcase what New Brunswick can offer investors and how our province can play a role in building stronger, more resilient supply chains,” said Denis Caron, president and CEO of the Belledune Port Authority. “The Port of Belledune is advancing a phased expansion that will strengthen our capacity to support critical minerals, bulk products, mine supply and global trade. By connecting investors with projects like ours and bringing the strength of Team New Brunswick to the table, we can demonstrate the significant opportunities available to invest, grow and trade from New Brunswick.”

As part of its market diversification efforts, Opportunities NB is leading an investment-attraction mission across the Greater Toronto Area; this will consist of meetings on sector-focused business development, engagement with existing clients and prospective investors, networking opportunities and strategic communications. The initiative will focus on priority sectors, including mining, cybersecurity, defence, financial services and other high-growth industries aligned with New Brunswick’s economic priorities. The goal is to generate new leads, advance strategic opportunities and attract investment that supports jobs and long-term economic growth.

“New Brunswick has the natural resources, energy opportunities and critical infrastructure that Canada and the world need,” said Herron. “We have major projects with the potential to bring billions of dollars in investment and create good-paying jobs, and we are ready to work with investors to turn that potential into action. The Canada Investment Summit is an important opportunity to put New Brunswick’s projects on the radar of investors and build the partnerships needed to get them moving.”

Opportunities NB is the lead business development agency for the province. It supports local businesses and attracts new investment from around the globe to boost economic and job growth.
