Elemental Clean Fuels (ECF) is proposing a low-carbon e-methanol/eSAF production and export facility in Saint John, New Brunswick, that will meet EU RFNBO requirements. The project would produce approximately 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually, with a focus on supplying European markets and supporting marine fuel bunkering through dedicated storage infrastructure. Future potential includes the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), supporting the decarbonization of the marine and aviation sectors.

Methanol is increasingly being adopted as a marine fuel, while e-methanol offers a lower-carbon alternative produced from renewable energy and sustainably sourced biogenic carbon. The project represents an opportunity to establish large-scale clean fuel production on Canada’s East Coast, supported by Indigenous partnerships, New Brunswick’s port infrastructure, access to international markets, and world-class onshore wind resources.

The Belledune Port Authority (BPA) is advancing a phased marine terminal expansion as a strategic Canadian transportation and logistics hub for critical minerals, northern mine supply, liquid bulk products, and international trade. The expansion project would support the future development of Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation’s Mary River Mine in Nunavut, providing transshipment and storage capacity for iron ore and other critical minerals moving through the region. The expansion would act as a cornerstone of the Atlantic Corridor, positioned to support growing trade flows between Canada, Europe, Asia, and Africa. As Canada’s only east coast transshipment port and one of Canada’s closest year-round ice-free ports to the Arctic, this new facility is projected to drive a 498% increase in bulk commodity and critical mineral throughput over the next 12 years. For infrastructure investors, this represents a unique opportunity to build upon an established Canadian trade platform, leveraging existing port assets, strategic international shipping routes, and significant long-term growth potential.

EcoRock’s Dalhousie Pozzolan Project is a proposed 30-year volcanic rock extraction and processing operation. The project aims to mine, refine and export pozzolan as a partial replacement for clinker in cement production. This low-carbon alternative can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with concrete and construction materials. The project would see the expansion of an existing 11-hectare quarry into an 80-hectare open pit mine, increasing annual production from 55,000 tonnes to 3 million tonnes.

The Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station expansion is a conceptual project aimed at securing reliable, non-carbon-emitting, baseload generation to serve provincial and regional clean electricity demand. The Point Lepreau Generating Station is Canada’s only nuclear generating station outside of Ontario, and its site is licensed for a second nuclear reactor. The current CANDU reactor at Point Lepreau is scheduled to reach the end of its operating life in 2040. A second nuclear reactor could play an important role in maintaining reliable baseload generation to meet future electricity demand. New Brunswick is open to exploring a variety of nuclear technology options to meet future electricity demand.

Positioned as a key gateway to global markets through North America’s Atlantic Coast, the port saw 153% growth in goods originating in Ontario moving through the port in 2025, strengthening its role as a preferred Atlantic gateway for Ontario and other Canadian exporters.

Upgrades to port infrastructure and support for existing rail facilities will unlock major economic and logistical benefits for Canadian supply chains. Sisson Mine Project

One of the largest undeveloped tungsten deposits in the world. Tungsten has been designated as a critical mineral by the Canadian and United States governments. The project aims to extract tungsten and molybdenum and position itself as one of North America’s most advanced opportunities to establish a secure domestic tungsten supply chain. The project could become the largest tungsten producer outside of China, with proven and probable reserves of 276 Mt (million tonnes) and a planned mine life of 27 years. The projects planned average output would be equivalent to approximately 26% of current non-Chinese supply. The Sisson Mine Project has been designated as a nation-building project and referred to the Federal Major Projects Office.
