The new positions will include project managers, software developers, vertical market leads, 3D modellers and quality assurance specialists.

“The technology ecosystem in Fredericton made expanding here an easy choice,” said company CEO Yan Simard. “Our team at Kognitiv Spark has a wealth of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, and military and industrial worker support systems. We used this experience to build RemoteSpark, the best industrial mixed reality communication system available in the market. Expanding our team will be a next step for Kognitiv Spark toward becoming an industry leader in this sector. Fredericton is the perfect place to make this happen.”

To support its expansion, Kognitiv Spark is eligible for an investment of up to $180,000 from Opportunities NB, which is a Crown corporation that seeks to attract and support opportunities to grow the economy and create jobs. It provides support services for businesses across the province.

The investment comes in the form of payroll support, which provides quarterly salary assistance to businesses within the first year of a new round of hiring. This form of investment helps create small quantities of jobs in the early stages of a company’s growth.

It is estimated that creating up to 12 jobs would contribute $3.25 million to the province’s GDP over three years and generate $226,000 in provincial taxes over that same period.
