New Brunswick has a long history as a Canadian leader in the energy sector. Nuclear energy has been a key component of the New Brunswick energy landscape for almost four decades. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) represent the next step in the evolution of nuclear energy in Canada and it is well understood the role nuclear will play in reaching net-zero emissions.
New Brunswick will be the supply chain and technical support hub as the SMR technology is developed in the province and deployed nationally and internationally. We are looking to attract a targeted cluster of companies from France with a vested interest in the nuclear industry.
Looking Toward France
In partnership with NB Power, ARC Clean Energy, Business France, and GIFEN, Opportunities NB will be hosting an informational webinar to educate French companies on the opportunities that exist to support the nuclear industry’s growth in New Brunswick and how they can expand their operations to North America.

Why This Event is Beneficial
New Brunswick provides an agile business environment and interconnected ecosystem that allows for swift business expansion. New Brunswick has placed an emphasis on expanding its nuclear power capabilities and attracting companies to further strengthen the sector. We are one of two Canadian provinces with nuclear reactors and are further developing our nuclear program to support both existing CANDU reactors and the emerging SMR industry. As Canada’s only official bilingual province, New Brunswick is actively looking to bolster our economic and cultural ties with businesses in France.
