Chosen for their diversity of experiences, passion for change, and proven ability to drive business results, Opportunities NB’s (ONB) board of directors helps set the vision for New Brunswick’s economic future.
ONB is excited to welcome two new members to our board this spring. These New Brunswick-born business leaders bring years of private sector experience and strategic thinking to the table. They embody ONB’s high standards and key organizational values – integrity, professionalism, and excellence.
Welcoming our new additions
Without further ado, meet the newest members of the ONB board.
Tom Liston has a Bachelor of Business Administration from UNB and a Master of Arts in Economics and Finance from Queen’s University. He is the founder of Water Street Capital, an investment and advisory firm focused on healthcare, agritech, and energy innovation and has over 20 years of experience in venture capital and investment banking. Tom is a native New Brunswicker who maintains strong connections to the province. He is a founding board member and donor to the World’s Oldest Basketball Court initiative in St. Stephen. Tom has been appointed to a two-year term on the board.
Natasha Ostaff has a Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in accounting) from Mount Allison University and holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy. She currently serves as the General Manager of Business Operations for the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats Hockey Club and has over 20 years of senior management experience in financial management, strategic planning, and operations. Natasha will serve a three-year term as part of the board.

A new chair and vice chair
In addition, ONB is thrilled to announce that Bathurst’s Barry Kyle (Industrial Rubber Company) has been appointed board chair, while Moncton’s Andrew McLaughlin (Major Drilling Group) will step into the role of vice-chair. Barry has been part of the board since summer 2022 while Andrew joined the team in late 2020. We are excited to see them continue their support for New Brunswick businesses in these new roles.
All good things…
Finally, it is essential that we recognize the contributions of two outgoing board members who have reached the end of their terms, including former chair, Michael J. Campbell. Michael joined McCain Foods in 1991, serving most recently as its vice president, general counsel, and secretary. He was with ONB in its earliest days, joining our board of directors in 2015 and serving as chair since the spring of 2021. His leadership and insights helped ONB and the province navigate the post-pandemic era.
Jim Baumgartner was also a part of that initial board. As a financial services expert with decades of experience, Jim’s wisdom and expertise have been invaluable to ONB leadership for nearly a decade.
ONB thanks both of these incredible New Brunswick leaders for nine years of working to improve the province’s economic fortunes. They will be missed.
Please join us in welcoming Tom and Natasha, congratulating Barry and Andrew, and thanking Michael and Jim for everything they have done for both our organization and our province.
