For the eighth consecutive year, Opportunities NB (ONB) is inviting high school graduates from across the province enrolled in New Brunswick post-secondary institutions to apply for the NB Proud Awards. There are five NB Proud Awards granted to graduates across New Brunswick’s five economic regions. Each award is valued at $2,000 to provide additional support for New Brunswick students to achieve their post-secondary goals.
ONB is pleased to recognize high school graduates who demonstrate pride in New Brunswick and a passion to stay and contribute to our province’s growth. These awards encourage students to pursue their post-secondary studies here at home and help ensure they are prepared for opportunities within New Brunswick’s workforce.
Ensuring we have a robust talent pipeline for industry is important to our province and to ONB. We recognize that student retention is essential to helping New Brunswick meet the workforce needs it faces now and in the future.
“New Brunswick is home to world-class post-secondary institutions that offer endless opportunities and provide the skills needed to build the workforce of the future,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Greg Turner, who is also minister responsible for Opportunities NB. “We are happy to once again offer the NB Proud Awards to today’s graduating class to support their post-secondary educational goals and to recognize them for demonstrating pride in New Brunswick and a passion to remain here and contribute to our growth.”
This year, applicants are asked to respond to a question by submitting a short essay of no more than 500 words. For more information and to apply, see the application guidelines below.
